Environmental Impact

Economic Impact

  • Generation of 2 million soles (approx. €500,000) from the sale of agroforestry products such as molle, tara, and ayrampo.

  • Creation of local producer associations to strengthen market access.

  • Long-term economic incentives for communities to protect the forests.

Our trees

Molle, whose berry is used as cosmetic in the perfume industry. It is a native fruit of the Andes. 

Tara, a tree that produces leguminous shrub, used in leather tanning, pottery, and even writing ink. 

Queuña, a native tree resistant to dry soil and high altitudes.

This project aims at strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate related hazards. It improves education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate-change mitigation and adaptation, with a focus on women from the communities of Calca.
